  二、改进后的教学设计

  1、教学目标

  This lesson is the first lesson in Unit-6. It’s also a main point in this lesson, which provides an example for the target sentence construction. It increases the student’s synthetic ability of hearing, speaking, reading, writing by reviewing the present continuous tense.

  2、学情分析

  本班学生共45人,男生25人,女生20人。农村英语基础薄弱,学生听读英语都有困难。

  3、教学过程

  一. Teaching material analysis

  1. Teaching items: This lesson is the first lesson in Unit-6. It’s also a main point in this lesson, which provides an example for the target sentence construction. It increases the student’s synthetic ability of hearing, speaking, reading, writing by reviewing the present continuous tense.

  2. Aims to the teaching:

  A. Aim to the knowledge:

  ①Master the vocabulary: weather rain, windy, cloudy, sunny, snow, how’s=how is

  ②Describe the weather:

  —How’s the weather?

  —It’s windy/ cloudy/ …

  B. Aim to the abilities:

  To improve the students communication ability.

  3. Difficult and important points:

  To get the local weather information by using their knowledge which they have learnt.

  二. Teaching method--- the investigative method

  As we all know: the main instructional aims of learning English in middle school is to cultivate students’ basic abilities of listening 、speaking、reading and writing and their good sense of the English language. So in this lesson I’llmainly use “Task-based” teaching method. That is to say, I will let the Ss learn in real situations, finish a task by making a survey to help the Ss to get a better understanding of the key structure of the conversation. And in this lesson communication method、scene method and CAIwill be needed.

  三.Teaching steps:

  Step 1. Organization

  1. Organize the students by greeting each other.

  2. Duty report.

  Step 2. Presentation.

  1. Play a game “hot potatoes”: Show students some signs of weather, then ask the student who gets the picture will teach others the new words:

  weather: sunny, cloudy, windy, raining, snowing

  Students read after the teacher.

  Show them some other pictures. Have them match the pictures with the words.

  2. Ask one student:

  —How are you today?

  —I’m fine. Thank you.

  —How’s the weather today?

  —It’s cloudy/ sunny/ …

  Show the students some pictures and talk about the weather.

  Teacher VS students.

  3.Practice the sentence pattern.

  Group Ⅰ VS Group Ⅱ 、 Boys VS students

  4. T: Ask the class. How’s the weather today?

  Ss: It’s cloudy.

  Pretend to be reading a book, writing or cleaning the blackboard. Then ask the class

  “What am I doing?”

  Ss: You’re writing/ cleaning the blackboard

  T: Whole class. What are you doing?

  Ss: We are having English class.

  Show them some photos, and talk about these photos

  e.g. T: Look at this photo. How’s the weather?

  Ss: It’s sunny.

  T: What’s this girl doing?

  Ss: She’s dancing.

  Then practice in chains using Present Continuous Tense.

  Step 3. Practice

  1.Play a game in pairs.

  Give them some word cards.

  Student A: act out the word.Student B: guess what he/ she is doing.

  Student B can’t look at the words. Student B should use the sentence: Is he/ she doing…?

  Student A only answers “Yes” or “No”.

  They only have one minute. The pair with the most right words is the winner.

  2. Make your own conversations.

  T: Work in pairs to make your own conversation.

  Make a phone call to talk about the weather and what you are doing.

  I’ll give you some key words.

  e.g.1、 Shanghai/ cloudy/ read a book/ boring

  Ask two students to make a conversation.

  Give them some other words to make conversations:

  2、Tokyo/ raining/ watch TV/ interesting

  3、 New York/ sunny/ do some shopping/ stores/ expensive

  4、 London/ windy/ play computer games/ exciting

  5、 Beijing/ snowing/ see a talk show/ boring

  6、Seoul/ cloudy/ watch a thriller/ scary

  Have several pairs to act out their own conversation.

  Step 4 Summary

  1、Teacher summarizes : the new words,phrases and sentence structure.

  2、 Ask some students to tell us what they have learned this class.

  Step 5. Homework

  1、See today’s weather forecast and write down “how’s the weather tomorrow.” Work in groups. Next time I’ll check your work.

  2、Ask your friends their ideal place and write about it

  三、本节课设计与改进的教学反思

  本单元主要是用英语来描述天气情况。学生对这课的学习还是很有兴趣的.。但weather rain, windy, cloudy, sunny, snow几个单词的发音学生掌握比较有难度。我通过卡片带出几个天气的单词,然后引出How’s the weather?,通过问答形式在活动中反复操练。天气这个话题贴合平时的日常生活。学生在理解方面没有任何问题。所以 我在设计在活动的形式上力求形式多样化,充分调动学生们的求知欲。我觉得我平时还需要多研究别人优秀的课堂教学活动设计,把别人优秀的活动设计加用到自己的课堂里面去。
