丙辰中秋，欢饮达旦，大醉，作此篇，兼怀子由。
明月几时有，把酒问青天。不知天上宫阙，今夕是何年。我欲乘风归去，又恐琼楼玉宇，高处不胜寒。起舞弄清影，何似在人间。
转朱阁，低绮户，照无眠。不应有恨，何事长向别时圆？人有悲欢离合，月有阴晴圆缺，此事古难全。但愿人长久，千里共婵娟。

怎么才能知道月亮圆缺的规律呢？我举杯遥问苍穹。不知道天宫里，现在是何年月。我本可以和着这清风扶摇而上去问问故人，只怕高楼红墙、层楼叠榭，我经不住那高处的寒意。而那九天之上的风光又哪里比得上此刻银光乍泄下，犹如宫娥起舞的影和这水波微荡的风呢？
流光瞬息，月儿从高楼檐角，又跳入满是雕花团簇的窗棂，盯着我这样辗转反侧的外乡之人看啊看。月儿呀月儿我可有哪里惹恼了你吗，不然为什么要在我与亲朋分别的时候格外的圆呢？哎！其实我也知道自古以来这人世间的悲欢离合就与月亮的阴晴圆缺一样，难以求全。只望远方的亲朋都平安喜乐，哪怕现在隔着万水千山，沐浴在这同一月色下，就和我们相聚时是一样的。
