　　故事简介：

　　弗雷德的爸爸妈妈说"Just a minute" ，弗雷德也学会了，他以为是"等一分钟"，可"Just a minute"在生活中通常是"稍等片刻"的意思。

　　One day, Fred paints a picture of his family. He wants to show it to them. Fred’s mom is at her computer. "Just a minute, Fred," she says.

　　Fred eats some cookies, an apple and drinks a glass of milk.

　　His mom is still working. So he goes to ask his dad.

　　"Just a minute, Fred," his dad says. "I’m watering the flowers (浇花)." Fred watches his father for a while. Then he goes back inside.

　　"Fred, it’s your turn to walk the dog (遛狗). Rags needs to go out now," says Paul, Fred’s brother. "Just a minute, I want to read this page," Fred says. Fred reads the page. And the next one. And the next.

　　Paul is cleaning the big puddle. The little dog made it on the kitchen floor.

　　"What took (花费) you so long?" Paul shouts to Fred. "I told (告诉) you to walk Rags!"

　　"But I only read for a minute," Fred answers.

　　"That is longer than a minute," Paul says.

　　"But what is a minute?" asks Fred.

　　"A minute is 60 seconds. The big second hand on my watch goes around once in a minute," says Dad.

　　Now, Fred knows how long a minute is. Just a minute? Do you really mean it?
