但是，孙少平的爱情经历却十分悲惨。田晓霞，本来是孙少平的同学，后来成了他的女友，她大学毕业之后，当上了记者。接着，黄原发生洪水，她挺身而出，却在救人时不小心溺水身亡了。
读完这本书后，我心如书名一样，平静又平凡的接受了平淡的结局。但是，他们发生的事激励着我——无论多平凡的人也应为其生活的世界奋斗!
