Halloween
Halloween is an autumn holiday that Americans celebrate every year. It means "holy evening," and it comes every October 31, the evening before All Saints‘ Day. However, it is not really a church holiday, it is a holiday for children mainly. Every autumn, when the vegetables are ready to eat, children pick large orange pumpkins. Then they cut faces in the pumpkins and put a burning candle inside. It looks as if there were a person looking out of the pumpkin! These lights are called jack-o‘-lanterns, which means "Jack of the lantern". The children also put on strange masks and frightening costumes every Halloween. Some children paint their faces to look like monsters. Then they carry boxes or bags from house to house. Every time they come to a new house, they say,"Trick or treat! Money or eat!" The grown-ups put treat-money or candy in their bags. Not only children, but most grown-ups also love Halloween and Halloween parties because on this day,they can disguise themselves as personages or ghost as their imaginations will lead them. 该上场了，我又紧张又激动，心怦怦的跳个不停。终于下场了。下场以后老师还给我了一个小奖品。接着我们就去玩了。我和我的好朋友玩的特别开心。到走秀了，走秀的时候还会分出一，二，三等奖。很可惜，我穿的不是万圣节的衣服。所以没被评上。我下次会加油的！

今天是10月28日，是西方国家的万圣节，也就是鬼节。在这个节日里，人们都要打扮成各种样子，有扮成鬼的、有扮成公主的、有扮成牛魔王的、还有扮成小巫女的，等等。就是通过庆祝活动驱走鬼怪、保佑平安的。每当万圣节前夕（万圣夜）来到时，小孩们都要穿上花花绿绿的衣服，戴上形态怪异的面具去挨家挨户换糖果，还要说：“不给糖果就捣乱！”下面就是我参加一次万圣节活动的.故事，请大家赶快竖起耳朵听我讲讲吧！
早知道英语学校今天有万圣节活动，我和妈妈商量了好久，决定打扮成了小公主来参加活动。一进瑞思英语的大门，哎呀，变样了！墙贴上了可怕的蜘蛛网、黑黑的树枝，桌子上当然还有南瓜灯，这些都是万圣节的标志。过道里，小朋友们都打扮成了不同样子，我都认不出来啦！进了我的教室，也都变样了！教室的门上被纸贴黑了，在黑纸上，还贴着几只蝙蝠。原来贴的“a、b、c”不见了，变成了南瓜灯。天花板上挂各种各样的南瓜灯模型。看来，万圣节活动的准备工作已经好了。
今年的万圣节活动是一组游戏，就是要到不同的教室去闯关，我们组是第一个闯关的。听了老师的安排，我心里砰砰直跳，心想：会不会又向去年一样，教室里藏了一个“鬼”出来吓唬人。心里正在忐忑不安时，老师宣布了闯关游戏规则。第1个教室是投硬币！谁投进去了一个硬币，谁就得一颗糖果。第2个教室是抢椅子；第3个教室是猜猜看，具体是“小组长描绘一个物品，组员来猜是什么”；第4个教室是老师来说单词，小朋友来找出单词，然后再把单词背后的糖果取出来；第5个是做手工。我们整个上午都在疯玩。
今天的活动真好，既玩好了，还学习了万圣节知识、学习了和万圣节有关的英语，我很开心！
